An American Indian Chief named Tecumseh placed a curse on our American Presidents starting with William Henry Harrison. The curse stated that an American leader would be killed every generation. It seems that Tecumseh was angry because of the way his people were treated in the Indiana Territory, which coincidentally, was governed by future President William Harrison. After that, approximately every 20 years, an American President died in office. This curse would not be broken until President Ronald Reagan, who was elected in 1980, cheated death during an attempted assassination. When he did this, he became the first President since 1840 to be elected in a year ending with a zero who did not die in office.

Apparently there are two versions of this curse. The second one involves the Indian Removal Act of 1830 which was backed by President Andrew Jackson. According to this version Seminole Chief Osceola in Florida was believed to swear an eternal oath of war and destruction upon the future Presidents of the United States.

Here is a complete list of the Presidents who died:

  • William Howard Taft, elected 1840 - died, April 14, 1841
  • Zachary Taylor, elected 1848 - died July 9, 1850
  • Abraham Lincoln, elected 1860, 1864 - died April 15, 1865
  • James Garfield, elected 1880 - died September 19, 1881
  • William McKinley, elected 1896,1900 - died September 14, 1901
  • Warren Harding, elected 1920 - died August 2, 1923
  • Franklin D. Roosevelt, elected 1932, 1936, 1940, 1944 - died April 12, 1945
  • John F. Kennedy, elected 1960 - died November 22, 1963

Two of the most tragic deaths in American history are the assassinations of Presidents Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy. The numerous similarities between the two presidents are mind boggling due to huge number of them. Whether it be coincidence or synchronicity, the parallels between these two presidents are nothing less than ironic.

Kennedy and Lincoln were not only both elected in a year ending with zero, but they were elected exactly one hundred years apart. Lincoln was elected president in 1860 and Kennedy was elected in 1960. Their wives even shared a similarity because both first ladies lost a son while living in the White House.

Lincoln and Kennedy both have seven letters in their last names. Both men were deeply involved in protecting the civil rights of Blacks in America.

Of course the obvious similarity is that both vice presidents had the last name of Johnson. However the similarity doesn't end there. Andrew Johnson and Lyndon Johnson each have thirteen letters in their first and last names.

Ironically, the two vice presidents were born exactly one hundred years apart. Vice President Andrew Johnson was born in 1808. Vice President Lyndon Johnson was born in 1908. Additionally, both represented southern states as senators.

There is even a time line coincidence of one hundred years existing between the two assassins. John Wilkes Booth was born in 1839 and Lee Harvey Oswald was born one hundred years later in 1939. Booth shot President Lincoln in a theater and fled to a barn. Oswald shot President Kennedy and fled to a theater.

John Wilkes Booth and Lee Harvey Oswald each have fifteen letters in their full name. Both assassins were southerners who held extremist views and both were murdered before the could be brought to trial.

Lincoln was shot in Ford's Theater. Kennedy was shot while riding in a Lincoln convertible made by the Ford Motor Company. Both men were assassinated on a Friday and in front of their wives.

President Lincoln's private secretary shared the same first name with President Kennedy, John. The last name of President Kennedy's private secretary happened to be Lincoln.

In addition, the first public statement announcing Abraham Lincoln as a Republican candidate for President was made in a letter to the Cincinnati Gazette on November 6, 1858 endorsed a John P. Kennedy as his Vice Presidential running mate, even though Andrew Johnson became his Vice President.

There is no way around it, the similarities are spooky to say the least. It make one one wonder though, how there could be so many?
